Departure is a melodic metal band hailing from Northwest Indiana. Formed in the fall of 2021 by Ben Haavig and Robert Wooge, the group solidified its lineup after a few early changes, welcoming Miguel Contreras on drums and Evan Curtis on bass.
By blending a diverse range of influences, Departure delivers a dynamic sound that strikes a powerful balance between melody and aggression. Their music is rooted in genres like melodic death metal, metalcore, progressive metal, and thrash, drawing inspiration from bands such as Trivium, In Flames, Opeth, Mors Principium Est, Unearth, and As Blood Runs Black.
